A husband is not to look at, a husband is to get. -- Fiddler on the Roof

Too many single young women nowadays have forgotten their first, and most essential, duty. This duty is not to their job. Jobs are entirely secondary! If you are staying late at work, slaving away for purely financial compensation, you are failing! Ladies, know this: your first duty is to get a husband.

Notice, I do not say "find" a husband. You haven't lost one, have you? You need to get one in the first place. You can kind of fill in the blanks as to the type of man and so forth, but the getting of a husband doesn't just happen on its own.

A single young lady must devote plenty of time and attention to this task. You can't just dream of a husband and have him appear. You have to look in the right place. Attics are not the right place. Sporting goods stores are the right place! Curves is not the right place. Knights of Columbus is the right place! You get the idea.

Also, do not be impatient about getting a husband. Impatient people make faulty choices. Be happy and smile a lot. This is the correct way. Don't worry if you don't see instant results. Make sure you are ready to laugh at yourself at the drop of a hat. Then you will be ready. It doesn't hurt to pray, either.

Finally, think of how you got your job, if you have one. People often repeat, like monkeys, "It's not what you know, it's who you know." This lesson applies equally in the search for that one eligible bachelor who will fall irrevocably in love with you. Utilize your connections, both relatives and friends, to whatever extent seems rational and feasible. Don't be afraid to try something new; at the same time, however, don't do something that feels unnatural.

Ok, have fun everyone! :-)
