“Come, woo me, woo me; for now I am in a holiday humor, and like enough to consent” --William Shakespeare, As You Like It

We have to be careful about moods. Sometimes I feel my spirits going higher and higher, so high that they are bound to crash. A singing metaphor works here. When you sing higher and higher, but at the same time try to keep the sound in on yourself, your throat will tense up from the effort, causing vocal strain and discomfort. However, when you sing out, arcing the sound up high from inside your nose out into a space from which it can bounce back, you let go and it's glorious and wonderful. That is how we must direct and channel our good humor, if we are fortunate enough to have it. It's not about producing a better time for ourselves, but about spreading the joy to others and remaining sensitive to their demands.
