August 28, 2007

We are ordinary Christians. We work at the most varied professions. All our activity takes place amid everyday circumstances. Everything follows a customary rhythm in our lives. The days seem the same, even monotonous. But don't forget that our condition which is apparently so common has a divine value. God is interested in everything we do, because Christ wishes to become incarnate in our things, to vivify from within even our most insignificant actions. --St. Josemaria Escriva, Christ is passing by

Whatever you do, do it for Christ and do it wholeheartedly. That is our goal. Michael reminded me last night that tomorrow is not just another Tuesday—it is Tuesday, August 28, Year of Our Lord 2007! And even that is a gift. We should be getting better and better each day, because rhythm is not the same as monotony. All good pieces of music have a rhythm; they also have a theme, which grows and builds to a climax—they go somewhere. So will we, by His grace.
